Reflecting on the end of a semester

As I come close to completing my sixth semester of college, I only have begun to realize how much I value the wonderful friendships and acquaintances I have made since college started for me. For the longest time ever, I truly did not believe that I would be able to meet people with the same interests as I did, especially at the school I'm at now. I was, of course, incredibly naive and ignorant of what the U offered. The past few years have helped me grow so much as a person as I continue to find out more about myself. I can say with 100% honesty that I'm glad things turned out this way. It's been an experience that I will always cherish and I eagerly look forward to my remaining three semesters.

Of course, there are those that I have known since childhood or high school, and I realize more and more how much these friendships mean to me, especially when I sit around studying for a test or laboring over a project and thinking about how much I miss the times we used to have before we all went our separate ways. It's sad to think that I'll be lucky to see them a few times a year and that this may be how it will be for the rest of our lives. Of course, I know they will always be there for me and I for them. It really makes me put things into perspective as the qualities they may have had that used to peeve me don't seem to be so important anymore.

Enough of the nostalgia. I have one more final and a term paper to write (Only 15% finished? Pretty sure I have never rocked at procrastination more than I have this semester).

This is my driveway: the wind hates us.

Blogging

Amidst the flurry of studying for finals, writing papers, and slaving away in the lab, I’ve decided the best idea to do is to start a blog (clearly logical thinking right there). This is my first blog. I’ve journaled for many years, but blogging is a very different activity. I have to remind myself that people may actually read these posts, therefore, I should refrain from saying anything that could potentially embarrass myself in the future.

So a bit about me, I’m a junior in college right now. My life is pretty boring; very typical of a student who aspires to go into medicine. My time now is spent mostly in academia, with the occasional hours I spend in the “real world” (or as close as I can get to the real world) when I’m volunteering at the hospital. In a few weeks, I’ll be able to post some more, though what I mainly hope to do with this blog is to bring up some issues that are on my mind and to post videos/photos that may come my way.
